Tribute to Pastor Tolu Mogaji

As I honor the memory of Pastor Tolu Mogaji, I see him as a father figure and a cherished confidant. From the very first moment I met him, I noticed his genuine desire to make everyone feel comfortable in his presence. He was a true ambassador of Christ, embodying the love and grace that we all aspire to reflect.

Pastor Tolu was not only a spiritual leader but also my music mentor. As the Choirmaster of the CAC Europe Central Choir in London, now known as the Anosike Regional Choir, he guided and inspired countless individuals through the power of music. His role as our Choir Coordinator at CAC LDCC was marked by his unique talent as a composer, arranger, and lyricist. I fondly remember the collaborative efforts we undertook during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, we worked together to produce audio recordings of some CAC hymns, creating lyric videos that still stand as a testament to his dedication and creativity. Remarkably, he sang all the harmoniesโ€”soprano, alto, tenor, and bassโ€”in most of those productions, showcasing his extraordinary musical gifts. Those recordings continue to resonate with us and are a testament to his dedication and creativity.

In every aspect of his life, Pastor Tolu exemplified what it means to be an ambassador of Godโ€™s kingdom. He was always focused on ensuring that we aimed for heaven while encouraging our spiritual growth and success in life. I will forever be grateful for the kindness he showed me during a pivotal moment in my life. When I was preparing for marriage, Pastor Tolu single-handedly invited my fiancรฉe and me to a private banquet where we engaged in meaningful discussions about marriage and life. His guidance was invaluable, and his supportโ€”along with that of CAC Narrow Gateโ€”during my single days, my wedding, and beyond was a true blessing.

There is so much more I could say about this remarkable man. I recall our last conversation before I received the news of his passing. He expressed his concern about how, in todayโ€™s world, many worship God with mere lip service. He lamented that people often make themselves available only for major events, while neglecting the local gatherings where their dedication is truly needed. He prayed fervently that those of us committed to giving our best to God would be rewarded for our faithfulness.

I will deeply miss this great man of Godโ€”his powerful preaching style, the personal conversations we shared, and his passion for music. While we feel a profound loss here on earth, I take solace in the belief that heaven has gained a shining light.

Until the resurrection morning, may you continue to rest in peace, Pastor Tolu Mogaji. Your legacy will forever live on in our hearts and in the lives you touched.
